About Knytfolket

Knytfolket is a marketplace for those who create with yarn, thread, natural materials, and their hands. Here, people who love to knit, crochet, embroider, braid, knot, upcycle, or design patterns come together. Both beginners and experienced crafters are welcome, as are those who love old craft books, collect treasures, or want to give new life to what already exists. All expressions that tie us together are welcome here.

We believe in slow creation, respect for materials, and sustainability in both thought and action. Handmade items carry silent strength and meaning – every product, pattern, or book tells a story that someone has carefully created or preserved.

Behind Knytfolket is Knytkod, my small company where creativity and code go hand in hand. My name is Romina Rebolledo, and I created Knytfolket to combine my love for crafts, technology, and community. Here, we are building a safe space where craftsmanship can flourish and where both sellers and buyers can feel at home.

Welcome to our community 🧡

How did it all begin?

The idea for Knytfolket was born out of a love for crafts and community. I, the person behind it, am Romina Rebolledo, an artist, programmer, and dedicated knitter since I learned at the age of twelve. For me, knitting is almost like meditation, a way to think, breathe, and find inspiration to create.

I love everything that can be tied: threads, yarn, leather, wire, and how hands give form to ideas through knots, loops, and stitches. I am fascinated by both old and new patterns, and see them as visual works of art in themselves. Books, instructions, and patterns, whether digital or analog, carry stories that deserve to be shared.

Knytfolket was created as a place for just that: a home for handmade work and for everything related to knotting: knitted, crocheted, woven, braided, embroidered, and other forms of knotted craft traditions. Here, both experienced creators and curious beginners can meet in a community where quality, respect for materials, and the joy of creation can flourish.

What do we want to contribute?

We want to contribute to a more sustainable and thoughtful world, where materials are utilized and craftsmanship is valued. Our goal is to create a safe and vibrant marketplace for handmade goods, a place where creation meets appreciation and old things get new life.

We want to uplift small-scale creators, encourage upcycling, and make it easy to reach out with what you create. By celebrating the slow, personal, and material-conscious, we hope to inspire more people to create, share, and discover the joy in what is made by hand, one stitch, one knot, one embroidery at a time.

Who is Knytfolket for?

Knytfolket is for everyone who is drawn to the handmade, the knotted, the slow – whether you create yourself, collect, or simply want to support local creators and sustainable ideas.

We particularly target those who knit, crochet, embroider, braid, upcycle, or design patterns. For those who love yarn, thread, and materials with soul. For those who want to share what they do with others who truly appreciate it.

You don't have to be an expert; everyone is welcome here as they are, with curiosity, a love for creation, and respect for craftsmanship. 🧡
